There are no apparent leaks or repairs. The louvers work but need some minor dents repaired. The louvers are a factor made system, probably by Banta Radiator Company, which made the radiator.
The core is 91 cells wide by 22 high.
I took some pictures of the radiator on the Travel Air 2000 at the Virginia Aviation Museum. They are identical. Their's is missing the louvers but it has the mounting bolts for them. The strange thing is they're the same color. I can only assume it was the standard factory color and the Museum plane was restored to it's original color.
The inlet and outlet pipes on the top of the radiator are 26 1/4" center to center. The Inlet tube is 1 3/8" O.D. and the outlet tube is 1 1/8" O.D.
The clamps to mount it to the longerons appear to be for 1" diameter tubing and are set up for longerons 32 3/4" on centers. I have not closed the clamps down to measure the tube size. The bolts which attach the 2 clamps on each end are 3 3/4" on centers.
The header tank is copper and since it has matching blue paint around the filler I assume they came from the same plane. It also is in very good condition and should clean up very nicely. It includes the vented cap. The back of the tank measures 16 1/4" x 7 1/2". The mounting tab holes form a rectangle 14 5/8" x 5 5/8". The bottom tube is 1 3/8" O.D. and the top tubes are 1" O.D.
Yes the bottom is wider (3") than the top (2"). Any help with a trade will be appreciated.
